Live: SHARON HARRIS  (aka The Zola Kendi Project)

Sharon Harris returns to Switzerland from New York, where she played at Carnegie Hall with the Music Educators' Creative Ensemble and performed at numerous clubs and festivals with her own band. Together in duo and with band, she presents "My Life In Film", songs from films across decades as they reflect her experiences. From sultry to sassy - she performs songs by artists such as Barbara Streisand, Sia, Nathalie Cole, Gregory Porter, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, and others, as well as her own songs.

After studying journalism, Sharon Harris moved to New York where she worked as an actress and singer and appeared in TV shows and theaters across the country. She toured America before coming to Europe for the first time with the musical "Hair". Sharon shared the stage with acts such as Phil Collins, Celine Dion, David Hasselhof, Pablo Gil, Ray Blue, DJ Jamie Lewis and DJ Minus 8 and performed in "Little Shop of Horrors" and "The Goldberg Variations" in the renowned Theater Basel. In addition to her own musical projects, Sharon Harris wrote tracks for DJ Tweak (Irma Records/Head to Toe), produced the live show "VivaDiva" and worked as a singing teacher at the Jazz School Basel and the Swiss International School as as well as founding her own singing school.

Sharon Harris kehrt aus New York in die Schweiz zurück, wo sie mit dem Music Educators' Creative Ensemble in der Carnegie Hall spielte und mit ihrer eigenen Band in zahlreichen Clubs und auf Festivals auftrat. Gemeinsam mit ihrer Band präsentiert sie „My Life In Film“, Lieder aus Filmen verschiedener Jahrzehnte, die ihre persönlichen Erfahrungen widerspiegeln. Von sinnlich bis frech – Songs von Künstlerinnen wie Barbara Streisand, Sia, Nathalie Cole, Gregory Porter, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin und anderen, aber auch eigene Kompositionen.

Nach ihrem Journalismusstudium zog Sharon Harris nach New York, wo sie als Schauspielerin und Sängerin arbeitete und in Fernsehsendungen und Theatern im ganzen Land auftrat. Sie tourte durch Amerika, bevor sie mit dem Musical „Hair“ erstmals nach Europa kam. Sharon teilte die Bühne mit Größen wie Phil Collins, Céline Dion, David Hasselhof, Pablo Gil, Ray Blue, DJ Jamie Lewis und DJ Minus 8 und wirkte in „Little Shop of Horrors“ und „Die Goldberg-Variationen“ im renommierten Theater Basel mit. Neben ihren eigenen Musikprojekten schrieb Sharon Harris Tracks für DJ Tweak (Irma Records/Head to Toe), produzierte die Live-Show „VivaDiva“ und unterrichtete Gesang an der Jazz School Basel und der Swiss International School. Außerdem gründete sie ihre eigene Gesangsschule.
